THIS THING CALLED MARRIAGE

I pray will find not just only love
But peace of mind coupled with respect
Towards that one who got our back for real
In tough times and when are days are on a low down
This thing called marriage

That will find peace
That we won’t just wake up one day
With fear of this person changing drastically
From whom they were known to be
This thing called marriage

Have seen a lot of things going up wired
In someone marriage today instead of living in peace
Is like a long enduring marriage
Filled with ups and down chasing that and this
This thing called marriage

Fine we find love
But headlong we’re drunk and intoxicated with love
Shut our instinct and eyes against all red flags
We’ve got the whole world at our foot stool
Everything revolves around it this thing called love

A dream of love in fantasy land
We build castle from the Hollywood movies we’ve seen
Thinking that life is just only base on a castle in the air
We never bother to checkmate the one we are about to go
On a life long journey with this thing called marriage

The in love experience has beclouded everything
Like a candle in the wind it fades out
Boom reality dawn on us both facing the real thing
This thing called marriage started and we start discovering ourselves
There is a whole lot of difference between us both

It all started a loving home
Sweet savour filled with so much joy, laughter and happiness
All of a sudden gone lost like the book that left the shelf
As I hear the footstep down the hall hmmm cried for days to come back
This thing called marriage sometimes is not what we think it is

A MAN NOT A WIFE BEATER

Today we need men with the heart of a warrior
Not a wife beater who abuses his wife
Men who are mature emotionally and mentally
To let go everything and to put on checkmate
On their feelings and temper

A man not a wife beater
Who will dwell in love and ensue
Anything kind of provocation from his better half the wife
Irrespective of the sharpest blade found in the wife mouth
Helping her to bridle her tongue savoring it with salt

Helping her to let the sauciness
In her total being and in her nature
As he tame his anger enrolling in a course
Called the anger management in becoming
A man not a wife beater

We need men who stand up
And take responsibility for their role as men
Who will run and catch up the flag
Christ carries ahead of us
A man not a wife beater

Not a lover of bottle
But a man that will man up
And go the distance
To better in containing his emotion
A man not a wife beater

Because
When men lose, women and children lose too
The home is a natural place to start
Men have a choice either feel inadequate or get a lot more creative
A man not wife beater

We need men who regardless
Of their state in life are stepping up to their God given roles
I’m praying God will call you (men) to do something great
For his name, your home and His (God) glory
A man not wife beater

SOMETIMES THE ONE WHO WE WANT DON’T WANT US

LOVE IN A WRONG PLACE

Sometimes we long for love
And love refuses to come our way
And when loves comes our way
Is either we’re been chased by the wind
Or been driven by the wind itself

Chasing an empty shadow
Just going on and on like that
With an open heart and a receptive heart
Towards this thing called love
When hearts longs and thirst after love

…we
Drive all day
Take the flight
Cross the ocean
Our devotion for a lifetime
Love a fairytale

It takes us off our feet
Sweep us off from the dungeon of our loneliness
Our world come up alive anew and boom we found love
Our happiness no’s know bound
Exceeding limit…breaking bounds

Sometimes we long for love in a wrong place
And we search for affection in the heart
Of the one who never cast a real feeling for us
They fake it just to be around while the benefit gotten last
Faking feeling lacquering around to get something

The heart becomes so cold once they’re gone
As it longs so dearly for this special being
Who’s got no time for such a heart that wants her for real
Life becomes uninteresting unfit to live
Sometimes the one we wants don’t want us in return

THE COMMITMENT OF A FATHER

As a law-enforcement officer
I've seen firsthand the deep hurt
And devastation that fatherlessness
Brings in a child's life
The commitment of a father

Our prisons are full of men and women
Who lived recklessly after being abandoned
By their fathers, wounded by the men
Who should have loved them the most.

Many now follow the same pattern
Of irresponsibility that their fathers did
While so many mothers have sacrificed
To help their children survive, they were never
Intended to carry the weight alone

We thank God for them
But research is proving that a child
Also desperately needs a daddy
There's no way around this fact
The commitment of a father

As you know, earlier this year, my family endured
The tragic loss of our 9-year-old daughter, Emily
Her death forced me to realize that not only had
I not taken advantage of the priceless time I had with her
But that I did not truly understand how crucial
My role was as a father to her and our son, Dylan

Since her passing, I've asked God to show me
Through His Word how to be the father that I need to be
I now believe that God desires for every father
To courageously step up and do whatever it takes
To be involved in the lives of his children

But more than just being there or providing for them,
He’s to walk with them through their lives and be a visual
Representation of the character of God, their father in heaven
A father should love his children and seek to win their hearts
He should protect them, discipline them and teach them about God

He should model how to walk with integrity
And treat others with respect and should call out
His children to become responsible men and women
Who live their lives for what matters in eternity
Some men will hear this and mock it or ignore it.

But I tell you that as a father, you are accountable to God
For the position of influence He has given you.
You can't fall asleep at the wheel only to wake up one day
And realize that your job or your hobbies have no eternal value
But the souls of your children do.

Some men will hear this and agree with it
But have no resolve to live it out.
Instead, they will live for themselves
And waste the opportunity to leave a
Godly legacy for the next generation

But there are some men who, regardless of the mistakes
We’ve made in the past, regardless of what our fathers
Did not do for us, will give the strength of our arms and the rest
Of our days to loving God with all that we are and to teach our children
To do the same, and, whenever possible, to love and mentor others

Who have no father in their lives but
Who desperately need help and direction
We are inviting any man whose heart
Is willing and courageous to join us in this resolution
In my home, the decision has already been made

You don't have to ask who will guide my family,
Because by God's grace, I will
You don't have to ask who will
Teach my son to follow Christ, because I will
Who will accept the responsibility

Of providing and protecting my family? I will
Who will ask God to break the chain of destructive
Patterns in my family's history? I will
Who will pray for and bless my children to boldly pursue
Whatever God calls them to do? I am their father. I will.

I accept this responsibility, and it is my privilege
To embrace it. I want the favor of God
And His blessing on my home.
Any good man does.
So where are you, men of courage?
Where are you, fathers who fear the Lord?
It's time to rise up and answer the call
That God has given to you and to say,
"I will. I will. I will.

SOMETIMES

We find some things in a strange place at times
As we go through life we encounter allot
Of things that shape our existence as human
We forge ahead with life breathing life through our nostril

What we crave and long for
Never comes to our grip
As grasps through it
We long for it…we thirst for it just as the deer
Sometimes

We ask a question
At times that questions our faith
Troubles besets us tearing us apart like a shatter dream
Right in our eyes things
Sometimes

The unpainful goodbye
That leaves your soul annoyed with a wounded heart
Bleeding steal blazing through the wounded the heart
And leaving a scarce behind
Sometimes

We wish for things to happen
And we enjoy it while its last
Never wanting it to end just like an happily ever after
Sometimes

The road we take seems grumping
Filled with pot holes of life
Bums here and there
We fought to navigate our way through
Sometimes

The one will love don't love us back
Heart becomes weak and tired
Love wasn't given in return
It gone like the sleep in the night
sometimes
