Centuries of longing

I cried with yearning
Decades after decades
You still creep in my head!

One great love left me shattered
Soul of my soul I was dismembered
Promises written on the sands
Blown off the shore at the strands!

Tears washed away the years
Years gathered all my tears
Into a bucket of loneliness
Hoping one day it'll quench my thirst!

Blue moon came along
Shining through not for long
The shadow of longing Soul
Chanting with regrets before the midnight fall!

Deserted Soul hiding in sorrow
Tears flowing freely from her bone marrow
Stinging pain without disdain
