When I Was Your Man

I saw you flitting away
out from my arms lost long ago
in another man’s world
consume in emotional infidelity
I know have lost

I wish I would have bought flower
meeting all the needs on your check list
intoxicated with materialism fading out
as I see you through it all
my baby is dancing with another man

look at her as she becomes someone else
never looking back neither wants to think twice
of her actions and decisions
think twice remember how will use to be
back then when I was your man

beclouding your mind and thought
becoming your sleeping and waking thought
all along you carried along with me
all because of the material gifts I showered on you
little wonder when you said you love me

is all because of is still meets your demand
but alas is now it seems to me you are gone
like a candle in the wind, a book that left the shelf
drifted and  blinded by the lust of money
when I was your man

see my baby is dancing with another man
as she finds comfort and warmth in his arms
blinded and blind folded with the quest of materialism
as she takes her flight far from me
when I was your man

I wish I would have bought flowers
rose so full of scented perfumes
gifts of all sorts diamond, clothes, shoes and bags
with all sorts of make-up kit and hair do
when I was your man…but you are now someone else
